Abstract
Castor plant is widely available everywhere. In Ayurveda it is know as Eranda. Its to belongs to family Euphorbiaeace. Castor oil is used as purgative, laxative in Ayurveda . This activity of the plant possess due to the important phytochemical constituents like flavonoids, saponins, glycosides, alkaloids and steroids etc. castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, it used as all type of rheumatic activity. Castor plant are used in case of dandruff, hair fall, it has good result. Castor plant are very useful herbal drug in our science not only traditionally it has very good effect in medicinally also. In pharmacologically it has so many other effect like anti analgesic, anti inflammatory ,purgative, hepatoprotective etc.
